Spooky Ghosts
To make these ghosts, you just need to have these elements on hand: a balloon (on which grimacing lines are drawn), a veil, black rope, and a ladder to install everything.
Illuminated Lanterns
Nothing could be simpler than these lanterns, which make an incredible effect on the stairs! They are simple paper bags on which different designs have been cut using an X-Acto. They are then lit by placing a small battery-powered LED candle in each one. If it’s windy, we also add a rock!
Welcome to the Inn of Beyond
Do you have an old post from your old stair railing? So why not recycle it and give it a morbid hostel look! You can add a painted sign with a scary message. Apply a coat of dark gray paint for the aesthetic finish, then a lighter shade for the faux finish.
The Bat Cave
These bats, easy to make using thick black cardboard, look best when you see them all sleeping upside down. But it’s the whole thing that makes this entry so successful: there are also a few witches’ brooms, many pumpkins, and autumn leaves.
Occasional Entrance Mat
Take a simple burlap rug, apply some stencils to it, and cover the whole thing with black spray paint. Allow to dry well before removing the stencils. A word of advice: use simple shapes to get the best results.
Eyes are Watching You
This project requires some talent, but the result is excellent! A few old balloons that your children no longer use and some leftover paint will be enough to make it. And it’s much more enjoyable when there are several grouped in the same place!
Spirits Away
All that is required to make these ghostly figures is chicken wire and white paint (or glow in the dark). Then let your imagination run wild to shape this material in the scariest way possible! The effect is more successful if the ghosts are not placed too close to passers-by to sow doubt.
Revenge of the Dolls
If you have a lot of dolls that no longer serve, it’s time to convert them into evil creatures! You can paint them a little, remove some parts of their body, hang them or suspend them. The more there are, the scarier it is!
Jack’s Carriage
This carriage is simply fabulous. There is an ultra-light wooden floor, four ultra-strong cardboard wheels, a skeleton coachman, and a fiberglass pumpkin. Probably very long and quite challenging to achieve, but admit that the project is incredible!
The Witches’ Cauldron
This unbelievable scene stuck on a garage door is just silhouettes cut out of cardboard. These are glued to the door, then strings of LED lights are placed behind for a remarkable effect.
